Fargo, N.D. (June 23, 2023) - The North Dakota Grain Growers Association is hosting EPA officials at its annual E-Tour, taking place in northwestern North Dakota.
The North Dakota Grain Growers Association is proud to host EPA officials at their 29th annual E-Tour to highlight the environmental stewardship of the state’s agriculture. From June 26 to 29, EPA officials will tour numerous locations throughout northwestern North Dakota.
The tour will make stops in Williston, New Town, Berthold, Minot and Fairview, MT. Participants will visit local farms, North Dakota State University facilities and agricultural businesses where there will be farm tours, seed treatments, equipment and aerial demonstrations.
The NDGGA is excited to bring EPA officials to the northwestern part of the state where they can encounter a different crop mixture and landscape than they've visited in recent years. Tour participants can look forward to an aerial tour with a view of the North Dakota Prairie Pothole Region.
NDGGA President Ed Kessel says the E-Tour is an opportunity to share necessary experiences with EPA officials on how North Dakota farmers use agricultural tools to maintain food production. "It's important to showcase the need for pesticides and the technology we're using to apply them," he says.
The North Dakota Grain Growers Association has been the premier voice for the state’s wheat and barley producers for more than 50 years. Originally named the North Dakota Wheat Producers, the North Dakota Grain Growers Association was founded in 1967 by a collection of farmers and agricultural leaders from across the state. To this day the NDGGA remains committed to serving its members with education, leadership, proactive advocacy and representation to increase profitability and value-added opportunities.
